A tribute to the epic film "Nicholas And Alexandra" (1971) based on Robert K. Massie's book of the same name. This is generally considered one of the best dramatic presentations regarding the story of the last Russian Imperial Family, although there are historical inaccuracies due to the lack of information about the Romanovs as Russia was under Communist control from 1918 to 1991. It's a well-acted, beautifully shot, and moving film. Like the book, it focuses very much on the love story of Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarina Alexandra (portrayed by Michael Jayston and Janet Suzman in the film). The music was composed by Richard Rodney Bennett; the song, "Too Beautiful To Last" was written by Paul Francis Webster. In 1972, it was recorded by Englebert Humperndick and it became an international hit for him. Enjoy!
