astiaan RWF has been tested by the renowned independent laboratory Tass International. Crash-tests included both forward and rearward facing installation with the ISOFIX system + Top Tether or car safety belts.
According to research, the most common injuries are the head (45%) and neck (29%) of a child during accidents. This is due to the fact that in the case of toddlers, the head is much larger and heavier in relation to the rest of the body than in older children and adults, which necessitates adapting safety measures to this. In addition to the weight and size of the head, the not yet fully developed muscles of the neck, nape and surrounding the spine are also a big problem, which means that a sharp jerk can lead to serious injuries. Therefore, it is precisely these areas that must be particularly protected during collisions.
The video below shows a simulation of a frontal collision (the most common cause of accidents according to statistics). Among other things, the maximum tilting of the head and the stability of the structure and mounting of the seat were analyzed. During each of the crash tests performed, the Bastiaan RWF seat provided adequate protection, not exceeding the acceptable safety standards, including those for the child's head and neck.
When installing the seat backwards in an accident, the force of the impact forces the child's head into the headrest, so that the head and neck are not so heavily loaded - a large part of the impact energy is absorbed by the headrest and backrest of the seat. We recommend rearranging children for as long as possible.
