Zooming in on a new image of the Lagoon Nebula from the VST

This zoom takes the viewer from a wide view of the central parts of the Milky Way deep into a detailed new picture of the Messier 8 star formation region — the Lagoon Nebula — from the VLT Survey Telescope at ESO's Paranal Observatory in Chile.

Lots to see here. The pink and blue double nebula disappearing at top centre at 0:28 is of course M20, the Triffid. THe cluster of stars above and to the right of the Triffid is M21. The embedded loose cluster of stars disappearing at right centre at about 0:46 is NGC6530.
