Yt Crop, a YouTube channel dedicated to DIY crafts and technical innovations, has embarked on a project to promote the use of hydraulic ram pumps. This project aims to provide practical, sustainable, and cost-effective water solutions for rural and remote communities. The hydraulic ram pump, a device that harnesses the kinetic energy of flowing water to lift it to higher elevations without the need for external power sources, stands at the heart of this initiative. This essay explores the project's technical aspects, social impacts, and overarching benefits, demonstrating how Yt Crop's efforts are transforming lives and promoting sustainable development.

It’s a RAM pump and yeah they are indeed real and cool. I have one that pumps water 300 ft uphill with a vertical lift of 50 ft and fills a small water garden. I used it with a cistern but sadly the frogs also love the tech and were hard to keep out of the tank so if he plans to use it for showers he needs to put a screen over it and add filters to his indoor supply lines. They are great as long as you have a head of at least 3ft high and continuous flow of water of about 1 GPM. Mine has been running on and off for about 3 years minus the occasional salamander or fish that is sucked into the intake tube

Это гидротаранный насос, придуманный еще в прошлом веке, а так молодец, к реализации подошел серьезно. 👍

Very interesting and insightful! Talented man too to build that with no power tools! ❤👏🏻BUT there’s nothing wrong with electricity! I can’t imagine life without it. I’m sure many others feel the same.

This is a HydroRam pump. There are tons of pictures and plans on Pintrest. These have become a popular item in the so called "Homesteading Movement.

This guy made a HUGE error in his build. He embedded it into concrete. Big "No-No!" The design is as such that if it breaks down, one can easily tear it down and fix it so they can get back to use. Screening & maintenance is always a good thing.

Not sure about efficiency, but having a device that you made and can be maintained by yourself would really give you an assured feeling

This is old technology. I remember reading about it in a book my dad had. It goes back to Victorian times.
