Chinese railway workers replace tracks in six hours

Racing against time to finish before morning rush hour, a team of 1,500 railway replaced a critical section of track in the heart of the Chinese city of Xian. Video has just been released of the six-hour operation done overnight on January 15, 2019. The city in the city in the northwestern province of Shaanxi is among many around China bracing for a rush of travellers as families gather for the Lunar New Year celebrations starting February 5.

it is also about economics. if that those sections are closed down, say, a month, how much revenues would be lost, besides of extra costs on personnels and equipment? not to mention it is right before the biggest migration season on this planet!

And here in Indiana it takes 20 men and a month to fix a 20 foot stretch of road by filling potholes... with sand.... so that in 2 weeks time the sand is gone and needs filled again... so 20 more men come and spend another month

The same stretch of railway track will take Amtrak to replace it after 60 years.

In Canada, that would have took 5years of impact review then 2 years of planification then another 2 years of reviewing if new impact. Then 6 years to do it.

In Toronto, any sort of construction will take almost a decade to finish. Where as the chinese can do it in no time. Honestly, I wish Toronto would allow a ton of chinese workers to come over and they can complete all the delayed construction. See that they complete all of this within a year or 2. Toronto construction is a friggen joke
