How to fix a home AC unit blowing hot air

Make sure to disconnect the fuse and then discharge the capacitor(s) before performing any service, as there is a risk of electric shock! I show how to fix a home air conditioner unit that is not cooling the air by replacing a faulty run capacitor. Some models may have a capacitor dedicated to the fan and another dedicated to the compressor (herm, hermetically-sealed compressor). The compressor capacitor is generally around 80 microfarads (abbreviated uF or MFD). Sometimes the fan and compressor capacitors are combined into one module, this particular unit has 2, but the process is the same.

Quick note to you. Not all air conditioning outside units have an external quick disconnect mounted on the exterior of buildings. Our A-coil and compressor units were replaced five years ago. The old one did not have an external quick disconnect, so the installer did not add one.

My ac blows warm air for a couple hours. I called a company and by the time they get here its working fine, happened a few times now

We got new AC about few months ago and when the fan turns on it throws hot air after couple minutes it throws cold air. And the house doesn’t stay cold. Any suggestions?

What if the unit is only blowing 8-10 degree lower than the intake temp? (ie house is 75 ac is only blowing 66)

We haven't used our AC since winter started and I go to use it tonight and it's acting like it's still on Heat mode. Air coming out is 110°+ and it 72° out.
