I'm just pretending?

Sophie said in her Jezebel interview that Pretending was originally a full song with lyrics, but she felt it was "too literal" and decided to extend/manipulate it into the super ambient final track. Speeding it up lets us presumably hear one of the original lyrics. "I was just pretending" might refer to what it's like being closeted about something.

hmm. surely there is marginal difference between 1489% faster and 1487% faster so it is a very strange Coincidence. i dont think it was sophie but maybe some unofficial editing from someone who does know what those numbers mean. idk.

This makes sense, when I first heard it it reminded me of that You'll Cowards Down Even Smoke Crack video where it was slowed down to like 50minutes long

Okay can we have a mini ep called; I LOVE EVERY PERSON ON THE INSIDE and have the og version of this song along with remixes of all the other songs. Like reverse the songs that aren't exactly bangers and remix them so they are and turn the absolute bangers Into pieces of art. Because that would make me literally lose my mind. She probably wouldn't do that, but one can fantasize.

Does anyone listens and feel like some parts of inmaterial are there? Like the background voices and some pianos

i love every person's insides-SOPHIE (Album Concept) or
OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S UN-INSIDES DELUXE

Cover concept: the same imagery of OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S but the image is flipped both horizontally and vertically and is now overlaid with a negative color filter. The title of the album if it was to be called something different would be i love every person's insides (what the first album sounded like if you spoke really fast with a British accent) and would be totally in lowercase unlike OIL OF EVERY PEARL'S title.

Below is the tracklist which I've assembled from unreleased tracks by SOPHIE along with some other ideas for each track which I'll explain in detail after the tracklist below.

Tracklist:

1. Cry to Okay It's
2. Drop
3. Ponyboy
4. Money
5. Faceshopping
6. It's Cold In The Water
7. Crush (Infatuation)
8. Kitty Cat
9. Burn Rubber
10. I'm Okay
11. I Was Just Pretending
12. B Who I Want 2 B
13. Immaterial
14. It's Your Life (Interlude)
15. 90 On The Freeway
16a. Take me To Dubai
16b. Venom (Money Redux)
17. Brand New World

Now I'll explain all the ideas I had for each track and some of the concepts l I had for the album. Since the whole OIL album is about the SOPHIE’s transition, I think that the deluxe or sequel album would dive deeper on those themes. Overall I felt that the new tracks should be simultaneously more disturbing and more optimistic, so my song choices were based a lot on that. I also felt because SOPHIE is such a musical genius she would remix nearly every track on the album and implemented that into the concept. I also didn’t take into consideration any new unheard of tracks that we don’t know about, so I made do with what I had. This whole thing has a whole heaping spoonful of wish fulfillment so I know this isn’t completely realistic. I also changed the titles of a few songs, the reason for them are below.

Track concepts:

Track 1-Cry To Okay It’s
A remix of the song to make it a little more of a club banger in true SOPHIE fashion or completely just reversing the song to make it a little more disturbing and a intro to the album.

Track 2-Drop
I think this could be a two minute transition track from the glittery world of It’s Okay to the realm of Ponyboy. Just a quick little song that’s instrumental, this song already exists and would do a great job doing just that while being different from Ponyboy and It’s Okay.

Track 3-Ponyboy
Ah, a classic. I would say just to keep the song completely the same or just add a few little effects, or just throw in a little remix section to this song.

Track 4-Money
This track is a little song that has a bit of both Ponyboy and Faceshopping flair, with some great vocals from Bibi Bourelly. It would function as a really interesting transition track and enhance the experience. Also I feel like this track represents a lot of transition-related surgeries. They’re expensive and scary, and this also makes Faceshopping more erie. Plus it already sounds great going straight into Faceshopping.

Track 5-Faceshopping
Like Ponyboy I would leave this track just the way it is or just add a few more flourishes to it. This song honestly is pretty much too perfect to touch.

Track 6-It’s Cold In The Water
In general one of my problems with the album is that it is generally very jarring from track to track, so I think padding the song with a bit of transition from Faceshopping would be beneficially to the song. I also thought the song could have a section that provided some different lyrics to make the song more positive, which is why I changed the title of the track.

Track 7-Crush (Infatuation)
I love this track a lot, Infatuation is honestly one of my favorite parts of the album. The only issue I had with it was I was expecting this massive epic drop in the song to make it this huge banger. So I would definitely implement that huge drop in the song, which again is why I changed the title of the song. I retitled the track because I felt like the drop could have some different lyrics and Infatuation is basically just a crush on somebody.

Track 8-Kitty Cat
I love this SOPHIE track and I think that making the drop section from Crush lead into Kitty Car would just murder me. I feel like the last ⅔ of the album needed more bangers so I definitely did that. I also feel like Charli XCX should do the vocals for this song to revamp it, because KKB’s vocals don’t do it for me.

Track 9-Burn Rubber
The main reason I included this track is because this little part in the drop from Kitty Cat is similar to Burn Rubber, plus Burn Rubber is too good of a song to not be released. I also think Charli XCX should do the vocals for this song again because I’m obsessed with Vroom Vroom and this song should have been on it if the track could have gone back in time.

Track 10-I’m Okay
Just a little remix of our favorite little cyberpunk nightmare would be nice. Simple little song to go from the darker bangers of SOPHIE’s into the lighter portion of the album.

Track 11-I Was Just Pretending
The track Pretending is great, but there’s this cool thing if you speed it up 1500% faster you can hear a part of the original song it came from. So I would just have Pretending sped up a bunch.

Track 12-B Who I Want 2 B
A nice little more chill bop from SOPHIE, it’s a great song if you haven’t heard it. It puts a little bit of melancholy into the sound while also being kind of a peppy sounding song if you imagine it faster. This also goes with the themes of Immaterial well lyrically.

Track 13-Immaterial
This song is perfect so I would barely touch it, do little as possible with this track. This is just a bop.

Track 14-It’s Your Life (Interlude)
This song also goes well with the lyrics of Immaterial, plus it’s just a awesome bop. I would shorten the song just a bit because the album would already be very long, make this song just a quick little less than a minute interlude.

Track 15-90 on the Freeway
In general the album needed more bops, so I put in more bops. This is a bop of all bops while not overshadowing Immaterial in all its glory. Just listen to the track it’s fun and has this great little squeak noise in the song that everyone should appreciate.

Track 16-Take Me To Dubai/Venom
To transition from the happier section into the amazing dystopia that is the last track, I would love a mashup of SOPHIE's track Take Me To Dubai and a remix of the song Money(the word Venom looks like Money spelled backwards and vice versa).

Track 17-Brand New World
All I would ask for the last track would be a remixed version of Whole New World/Pretend World to finish the album out on a disturbing yet banging note a-la-Faceshopping. Essentially a megamix of the whole album would be a great closer. Plus I think the track could be at least four minutes shorter because the album up to this point is nearly an hour long probably.

Thanks for reading and indulging me in my fantasy. I myself cannot cobble together an actual audio concept because I’m not that talented. I did attempt at making a playlist for the concept on my channel if you want to check it out though. Feel free to respond with any ideas or thoughts.

Bye.
