Evangelos Liamas is a Materials and Surface Scientist with an academic and professional background. Holding a BSc in Materials Science and Technology from the University of Crete, Greece, Evangelos further specialized with an MSc in Nanomaterials from the University of Sheffield, UK. He then pursued a PhD, focusing on the study of biological interactions at the interface of biomaterials, from the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, UK.
Throughout his academic journey, Evangelos has been deeply interested in the intricate interactions between biological materials and biomaterials. During his postdoctoral research, he ventured into the domain of soft tribology at the nanoscale. By employing soft elastomers with adjustable elastic modulus and utilising friction force microscopy, he gained valuable insights into this novel area.
Currently, Evangelos holds a position as a Materials Scientist at Unilever, where he specialises in the sensory perception of consumer products.
