Our API and SDK Products at Klippa Explained

At Klippa, we have multiple API and SDK products to help you optimize your document processing. In this video, product specialist Nick gives an introduction to the most important ones and explains how our products, on their own or combined, can make your life easier.
In short, an API, or Application Programming Interface, is an external processing service where you send your input data to get processed output data in return.
Our best known API is our Intelligent Document Processing service called DocHorizon. Here you can send your input document as pdf, image, etc, and in return get extracted data, such as total amount and line items for an invoice or date of birth and document number for a passport.
When extracting data from identity documents like passports, our Identity Verification API can go further than just extracting data; by providing additional input such as a selfie of your user or data from their RFID chip, we can return a matching percentage to help verify your users identity, validity of their ID document, their age, etc.
An SDK, or Software Development Kit, is like a building block. A specialized bit of code that becomes part of your application to enhance your users’ experience.
Since for most APIs the output quality is heavily dependent on the input quality, we’ve developed several SDKs at Klippa to help your users optimize their input.
Our Document Scanning SDK helps your users take the best possible picture of a document to make further processing as easy as possible. This is done by providing feedback like ‘move closer to the document’ and by enhancing the picture after it is taken by cropping, warping and color correction.
Our Identity Verification SDK takes that one step further; next to guiding your user to take the best possible picture of their identity document, it can also prompt the user to take a selfie, do a liveness check, or scan their NFC chip. This SDK is designed to work together with our Identity Verification API, using the collected data to verify the identity of your users.
While you can of course use our products separately, they’re designed to work together seamlessly, letting you extract data from any document and effortlessly verify the identity of your users.
