“Making Democracy Work” was the final major international event of the Central European University Frontiers of Democracy Initiative in the academic year 2015-16.
The conference took place on June 23, 2016 as a part of CEU’s 25th anniversary celebrations and the format was interactive, encouraging exchange among participants facilitated by strong moderators.
Thomas Carothers (Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, Washington, DC, USA) was Chair at the "Political Parties and Elections" panel and one of the speakers at the "Beyond Conventional Democracy" panel.
