People in Finland speak Finnish as their native language. But, do they speak English fluently as well? I’m in Helsinki to find it out!

'Im not good at English'. Proceeds to speak better english than some native english speakers, and with minimal discernible accent - kudos. My experience of Finland was entirely positive. English spoken fluently nearly everywhere (thank god!). Lovely friendly and trustworthy people. Beautiful country. So calm and self sufficient. Don't ever change.

When i went to finland as a trip, the most of people can speak english very well, maybe because of their education

The guy who cuts trees for a living who thinks he does not speak good English was actually an excellent speaker! Try talking to the trees.. it will boost your confidence because they never criticize you.

Nothing but some Disney movies and shows for kids might be dubbed in Finland.

I guess Finns expose for English language massively all the time in daily life; at work, tv shows, movies, music, video games etc. We dubb only the children's movies in Finnish (and they are usually pretty well made dubbs, btw) everything else has subtitles and the original voice track.

So, Finnish people do exercise while waiting for a bus, lol. So different to England. Also, his English is great and his job, I guess, is 'tree surgeon'

I'm finnish and I've been learning english for five years now in school. First two years I was horrible but the Internet and video games made me so much better. I speak english daily in social media but because I never need to talk in english my pronunciation is not that great. If I was one of these people I would have probably forgotten how to say anything in english because I'm also really shy. Chatting in private with someone online makes me already feel sick. Anyways, I went off track just wanted to talk about my experinece speaking english and say that this is a great video!

I'm Finn too, and pretty good at English. Mostly I have learnt to understand it from video games and internet. I also can speak Swedish (Well, of course) French and German :3 In Finland you can choose another languages to learn, like Spanish and the ones that I mentioned. I usually don't speak English, but I write it every day at internet😅 I'm 13 btw (14 at december)

Lol I'm surprised you managed to find people to talk with :D But it makes me feel good and kinda proud of my home country.
I did notice a few mistakes in the English subs: It's "kiitos oikein paljon", not "kiitos joten paljon" (she didn't even said joten but oikein), and her name is Elina, not Eliina. I also think the last name of that Juha guy was Tanskanen... I didn't hear it properly so I'm not 100 % sure (but at least Dolskanen is not a name here).

Here in Finland everyone learn English in school. That school subject begins when you’re nine years old. (Sorry if some of the words are not right. I don’t speak English very well, because i’m just 13 years old.)
