People have a fundamental human right to be taken care of by those they are familiar with, trust, and who genuinely care about them. With FreedomCare this is possible through CDPAP.
CDPAP allows you to self-direct your caretakers.
If you qualify for Medicaid Long Term Care and require home care, personal care, or skilled nursing services, under New York State’s Consumer-Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) – you can self-direct your caretakers. The program includes senior care and child care. Spouse and parent are the only exclusions for the caregiver/consumer relationship.
