How to use the Router Password Recovery feature | NETGEAR

In order to prevent the loss of your router's configuration in case you lose or forget your password, you can use the "password recovery" feature on your router.

I'm never redirected to the recovery page, it just stays on the 401 Error that we briefly see flash in the video.

what if your your 2 recovery passwords don't work ?? I set both of mine in the beginning and now they no longer work .. please need help its driving me nuts I need to get into my router I've tried the reset button on the router but that only resets the router not the App .. Ive also try to reregister my router but it comes up as already been registered ... ANY IDEAS ! ???

I lost my router username and password.
Clicking Cancel does not take me to the recovery page, it stays at error 401.

I entered the serial number and then I clicked the 'continue' botton. But nothing happened. What can I do?

I fixed the issue by resetting the near gear router which means you have to go through the set up again and reassign a new admin password. "If the password does not work, it means it has been changed. You can revert the device back to factory settings by holding down the reset button on the back of your Netgear router for 10 seconds. Once the device has been reset you will be able to login to the router with the default password."

This drove me insane, None of the above worked. What I ended up doing was going getting out my computer, went to available network, clicked on the icon, clicked properties and connections, then went to security and then checked the show password box, Where it showed me my password. I then opened the network setting on the WiFi and typed in the revealed password from my computer. FINALLY !! I can now watch my smart TV on my television

Where is the solution if you forgot your security answers to your security questions?!

If the "CONTINUE" button is greyed out or missing, you do not have password recovery turned on and will need to hard rest using the button on the back.
