If you're a beginner like me, this guy is by far the best to learn from. There are lots of good woodworkers on YouTube, but no one focuses on beginners like Ramsey. I'm just finishing his Weekend Woodworker course. Eight weeks ago I had never in my life cut a piece of wood with a power tool. Now I'm making furniture that we're actually 100% thanks to Steve Ramsey.

I'm glad that he has gotten a lot calmer in his later videos.

Why can't more videos be like this? Straight to the point, covered the basics for beginners, as described, no BS. Excellent job, thank you for posting.

Almost 10 years now Mr. Ramsey. Working on the mobile lumber cart and have never held a router in my hand. Fun to watch your video from ago!!

After watching the newer videos and then discovering this beauty, I’m convinced Steve did a few rails of white lightning before he shot this.

That's me...a total newbie. Just got my first router & needed a good intro video to cover basics. This guy is non-stop intensity which is great for me. He moves along at a nice clip and he didn't stammer or stop even once best I recall.  Kept me engaged & didn't get bogged down on the details.. I learned a lot.

Today is 25May2019. I must say your video quality us drastically improved over the years. However, the great content has remained a consistent! You have had a fantastic channel for folks like me (beginner wood worker) for years. Thank yo so much for that!

Wow! I have been working wood for many years and proudly PROCLAIMED I didn't own a "router" ...making adirondack chairs and selling them from my front lawn, when my neighbor, a pretty housewife came over and inspected my work...she was PARTICULAR....and she told me I needed to do this/that/the other....including "smoothing the edges"....thanks brother....this is a fine video and now I am off to Lowes to get one. You have almost 4 million views....thanks for helping me...you're a wonderful teacher. Love your enthusiasm. I work with wood because I think its mental "yoga"....and should be fun. You're definitely FUN.

A lot of people are saying he says router to much, but it helps for people who learn better with repetitiveness. Hearing it multiple times helps and he is very specific it helps so much.

This channel is fast becoming my go to channel for learning about woodworking tools. I love this guy’s ability to clearly explain woodworking basics to novice audiences like myself. Highly recommended and please keep up the good work.

Man, this is gold.
I’m such a noob, and woodwork is full of fun and obscure terminology.
But after this, I feel like I understand where all those tidy grooves and rounded edges are coming from :)

Just letting you know two things:
1) When I googled about routers your video was the first suggestion that came up.
2) Since I am a simple man, I clicked on the video link. Now I want to thank you for a great, straight to the point explanation for noobs like me. Well done!

Thank you for giving me my first router lesson. I've used a small router before, but have been afraid of the bigger one I bought at an auction. I didn't even know how to mount it to the table till you showed how. I just want to say thank you for your beginner router lesson. I hope you have a lot more beginner lessons on the router and on other tools also. One more thing, the views on this lesson at this time is 1, 784, 898. That just shows that people really do want to learn the basics. There is definitely an audience for this sort of thing.
