With how much pollution we make i am not surprised, like it's in almost every sector.

1950: Humans are 70% water.

I expect most microplastics actually get in your body from food. Something small eats it, gets it in its body, something larger eats it, something larger eats that, and eventually it ends up on your plate, all concentrated for you. Like heavy metals.

Note: This is a guess on my part. I'm no expert on microplastics in the food chain.

When I was a lab tech, one of my coworkers was an undergrad assisting on a research project where they discovered microplastics in dust particles. He basically said they were on every surface. This was 2012.

I've actually done some research on this, just offering my perspective here (ofc everyone is entitled to their own). The majority of microplastics come from tire dust, which means if you stop using plastic water bottles it does not help that much. Another huge part is single-use food packaging transmitting it onto the food and the microplastics within the food itself. Additionally, microplastics have not been conclusively proven to have negative effects on the human body. Clogging your blood vessels would require an immense amount, far beyond what we are ingesting. Don't get too scared!

That's why water "expires". The microplastics are getting in the water if it is in a plastic bottle

Ha. The effects disturbed me greatly. The main microplastic found in everyone's blood over here is the Teflon non stick material found on pans. If you don't use wooden utensils and it gets scraped even once, your washing water and every meal you cook will likely become contaminated. I switched to just metal pots after that study came out.

Why am I not surprised or shocked! This is a problem that governments around the world could have and should have sorted out years ago. But it would have cut profits for a lot of companies, and of course we can't have that.

I did some research on micro plastics awhile ago and found them in the air and water. It's really unavoidable at this point
