History of the Doctrine of Discovery (Clip 18min)

We will have Mr. Mark Charles Citizen of the Great Navajo Nation and 2020 Independent Candidate for President of the United States to speak about his book "Unsettling Truths - The Ongoing, Dehumanizing Legacy of the Doctrine of Discovery". Mr. Charles has some extremely important insights into why America can not seem to heal our racial divide and some of the major racial issues we face to this day. Mr. Charles and Mr. Soong-Chan Rah walk us through why America has this mentality of White Supremacy and links it with centuries old "Doctrine of Discovery" which sets the table for White Supremacy and this idea of "Manifest Destiny".

Mr. Charles and Mr. Rah have one of the best ideas to a path of healing that we have ever seen, heard, or read. Mr. Charles communicates a great truth in the fact that we are wounded, and all suffer some form of trauma, whether that is Personal, Historical, Communal, and if your lineage is the Oppressed or the Oppressor we again, suffer some from of trauma. In the book and in Mr. Charles Public Speaking events have proposed this Idea (Not of Re-conciliation) but "A Conciliation" and Calling not only This country, but the Church into a Season of Lament!
