The weirdest bottom bracket I have ever seen.

The most unique looking T47 bottom brackets I have seen. This crazy looking design is the same fitted to the winning Colnago V4RS bikes of UAE Team Emirates on their successful GC campaigns in the 2024 Giro D'Italia and the Tour de France.

The main bottom bracket featured is the PowerSet T47 Shimano Ceramic UAE Edition. It is only available for 24mm shimano cranks, but they do make the Power set design for T45 frames as well as T47.

These bottom brackets were supplied to us for Bikone to evaluate with an eye to becoming a dealer. We agreed purely out of interest. They have not paid for this video, had any say over it's content, or seen it prior to release. You can visit our shop and see these products for yourself, and we will be reporting back on long term durability as time passes.

There is no affiliate link, discount code to use. Until we make a decision to offer these for sale in our shop the best place to purchase is direct from the Bikone store.

Oh we also share some banter on Henry vs Jake at the 3 peaks cyclocross race.

If Jake is worried about bearing noise, the solution to this is to order a Hambini BB with Full Contacting Seals. It says on the website, "If riding in inclement weather, full seals are recommended". it's a no cost option and plenty of people do specify this when they buy them. But doing so increases drag and then people will complain that their spin tests are garbage.

Whilst id say this is completely unnecessary, that tapered ring is really clever. Threaded components are never concentric, but this tapered part may help to align the two halves. However if your plastic shimano BB is not quite concentric some would argue that shoving a steel 24mm axle through it helps it out 😂

Best, and most authentic, cycling tech channel. Thanks Paul

Jake is a joy to watch on camera, he’s eloquently relaxed.

I just got my Bikone BB, thanks to watching these videos, and it's a thing of beauty. Will geek out afterwork today and ride it tomorrow with the club.

Amazing, a company that doesn't force you to pay extra for the proprietary tool for their BB. But I guess for 399 it would have been in rather poor taste not to include it.

I'm fairly new to the channel. In fact I'm fairly new to road cycling but am now completely hooked lol. And at 43 and a lifetime mountain biker I feel like a new world has opened up. I love how expert u are at the technical maintenance. I'm no stranger to building bikes but ur knowledge is really eye opening. I'm currently riding a specialized allez race I got used with 105 on it. I love it but I really aspire to that black look bike 😍. I never knew the world of bottom brackets was so vast 😅

Love this kind of content, I’ve learned so much and now I wouldn’t take my bike anywhere else 👍

I bought a Bikone BB86/92 after your last video on them and the quality is incredible for about £85 delivered.

The answer to any problem in life is a Hambini bottom bracket 🤣

Kudos to the fact that you guys are going to do a proper long term test of BB. Looking forward for the results👍👍

It's absolutely interesting what you can get for what I received when paying the same amount for a Ceramic Speed bottom bracket on a Specialized S-Works 2013 Roubaix. It came with that setup but I switched out to a QUARQ Kiren power meter. Several years later, I put the original BB in with ceramic bearings. Massive difference.

That’s a nice bit of kit. The concentric tapered ring looks like a good idea for alignment

Looks to be well designed with lots of seals and takes into account minor frame imperfections. Nice.

Square taper is back - let's celebrate!

If you look for a more affordable BB, try a First components BB. I have two of them in use, both are well made, spin really easy and also are surprisingly durable. After 2 years my ultra race gravel / winter bike is still spinning like new, no sounds, no resistance despite lots of bad weather use. Its T47 in a Standert steel frame, came as oem BB and the other i put in a Cervelo Soloist (T47a, 77mm, bbright). It's sealed TPI bearings in it. Seem to hold up way better than all shimano, sram BBs or endura bearings i knew before.

I replaced all my Wera torque wrenches with better (and cheaper!) Tohnichi ones --- they are what factories in Japan use.

i'll stick with my plastic shimano bb. No crazy impressive spin test but it just works.

Nice take on BBs. I have wondered how many watts one cound save if the BB, chain, gears and jockey wheels rolled as smooth as possible.

Pog would have won the tour on a square taper
