Das Rolling Stone Magazin bedachte das Psych-Rock Trio mit Adjektiven wie „bewusstseinserweiternd, farbenfroh und trippig“ – was das Assoziationsspektrum eingrenzt. Allerdings sind Mother’s Cake durchaus auch musikalisch geerdet unterwegs. Kurzum: ihr selbst so betitelter „Cyberfunk“ ermöglicht es ihnen, viele Einflüsse unter einen Hut zu bringen. Das ist durchaus rauh, dynamisch und immer wieder überraschend.
Sie bewahren sich dadurch selbst davor, im Vintage-Retro-Ghetto gefangen zu sein. Momentaufnahmen und Jams entspringende spontane Ideen koalieren mit verkopftem Ausgangsmaterial - auch ein bisschen Größenwahn darf hier und da nicht fehlen, so ist Mother’s Cake mit ihrem megalomanischen „Live at Pompeji“-Tribut auf der Ski-Schanze von Bergisl ein audiovisuller Coup gelungen, der sich in einschlägigen Zirkeln viral großer Beliebheit erfreut.

Hunderte von Konzerten zwischen Manchester, Melbourne und Mumbai und Auftritte mit Wolfmother, Iggy & The Stooges, Alice In Chains oder LimpBizkit haben die Live-Qualitäten des österreichischen Progressive Rocker gestählt.

I'm not exaggerating when I'm saying that this band is in my all time top 10 bands. Up there with The Who, Led Zeppelin and Radiohead. A bunch of formidable musicians and a voice in line with Cornell, Cobain, Staley and Weiland.

Creation's Finest - einfach unübertroffen und ruft bei mir nach all den Jahren immer noch Gänsehaut hervor. Oh wie gern ich mich an die Zeit zurückerinnere, als diese Songs noch nicht mal final auf der Platte waren und niemand von Coronaviren wusste und man zB im Flex für ein paar wenige Euros ein Konzert dieser Sonderklasse sehen konnte.... Hut ab, gelungenes Konzert! Ich hoffe man sieht sich bald wieder.

The singers' voice is for sure not for everyone, but he does exactly what's needed to elevate the songs.

And whether you like the music or not, I think we can all agree that there's space to be respectful about the immense musicality that these guys show.

I'm certainly thankful that there is a band that encapsulates the oldschool rock'n'roll with some modern vibes. Also: INSANE RHYTHM SECTION WTF

Solid rock band, no flaws. The way they blend rock style from different eras, classic hard rock (zeppelin and Hendrix style) with 90 funk rock (red hot, ratm). That fit my rock tastes very well.
