Interesting mechanism but I am waiting for electric open kit, after I cut, spread, weld the tail light pocket as my GM Auth tail gate is 3/16” thicker on the top 8” of the passenger side. It looks like it’s not fully shut! Yeah, more unnecessary work.
It is almost as fun as having a police helicopter fly over you house at 3AM every night for two years. But, I am trying hard to develop a “Home Root Canal” DIY kit. It is fun too!

I was ready to order a kit until I saw the price tag...😳😳😳...my old latches worked fine ever since my dad bought the truck new in 1969...I'll stick with those...looks nice though...but not that nice...
