You forgot Tiny Core Linux. Its one of the lightest distros out there, so lightweight in fact it runs almost entirely in RAM and not regular storage

Correction: Microsoft always had the subscription service for ESUs since Windows 7. Not many needed it tho since most had already switched to 10. The issue now is that not near as many people has switch to windows 11 as people from 7-10.

I've used Manjaro and EndeavorOS, but I've never heard of CachyOS. Thanks for showing off this distro, I'll have to try it out sometime!
Also, having the F3 menu open will lower your frame rate, so you could use an FPS counter mod to see the performance without hindering it.

AmogOS is a very lightweight Linux Distro.

Maybe try a Fedora Spin.
If you look at fedora again, don't forget to install RPM Fusion and all the proprietary codecs and firmwares from them too, that will make performance way better and actually make it usable on the daily.
Maybe try the Cinnamon or XFCE variant.
Linux Mint is also great for low end laptops.

U could use a desktop gpu with laptop by connecting the pcie slot for the gpu to the wifi card slot with a pcie riser to mini pcie slot

I managed to get the latest version of Minecraft Java edition to run on a Q9650 based system with 8 gigs of DDR3 and a GT1030 GDDR5 at 75 FPS by just setting it to run with the semi blocking renderer. The Threaded renderer TANKS performance!

Man tysm. I used windows 10 and 11 and vanilla minecraft had 0 fps at the main menu and started spitting opengl errors at me. Then i used cachyos on my pc and my my fps averages at 60 with spikes to over a 100 fps on modded minecraft 1.12.2. I didnt know that windows could be so resource intensive. This just shows how little Microsoft gives about the average consumer

5:00 afaik puppy linux is meant to have such a low footprint that you can load the entire os into ram if you want and still barely use any ram at all.

of note, puppy linux isn't just one distro, it's a collection of many official and unofficial flavors, which are meant to cater to different needs, and have different user interfaces, but adhere to the same core philosophies.

so it's possible there's a flavor of Puppy Linux out there that fits your use-case better, and there's definitely one out there with a better user interface

Geruda Linux was overwhelming good and fast for my old Toshiba Sattelite Pro C50-A-1EL (with this i played Mincraft with Renderdistance 8 around 25 FPS xD and with window 10 it was liek 2-8 FPS) // I used Ventoy USB Stick with W10//11 installer and some Linux on it as installmedium. Worked verry well.

I think fedore doesnt have anything special to offer for a new linux user. In your case you want a beginner friendly distribution. Linux mint has been the best for that for a long time now. You have 3 versions with mint but you should mainly look at two. The cinnamon is their main version and its the best looking with the best features (uses about 400-600mb of ram idk exactly) and there is also the xfce version of mint which is missing some features and in my opinion looks too outdated. But it does use a lot less ram (200-400mb something like that). The reason mint is very good for noobs is because everything has a nice gui app. The app store in mint has flatpaks by default so you can use the gui app. Also its layout is similar to windows because its ment for new users.

it's time for the ultimate mod after Linux: removing that wireless card and using an external GPU with a cheap AliExpress adapter. Good series, keep it up!
