WHAT IS BARISTA?
A barista is someone who makes and serves espresso-based coffee drinks. Although the term barista generally refers to someone who has received professional training in the preparation of espresso, it can also refer to anyone who has a high level of expertise in making espresso shots and espresso drinks such as lattes and cappuccinos.
BARISTA BASIC JOB ROLES?
• As customers enter, greet them.
• Provide drink menus to consumers and answer their queries about ingredients.
• Accept orders while paying attention to the small details (e.g., preferences for coffee blends, dairy, and sugar ratios).
• Make the beverages according to the recipes.
• Offer beverages as well as prepared goods such as cookies, pastries, and muffins.
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards).
• Keep the room hygienic.
• Have a supply of clean mugs and plates on hand.
• Inspect to determine sure the brewing equipment is working properly and report any maintenance requirements.
• Follow all health and safety laws.
• Convey customer comments to managers and make suggestions for new menu items.
