Draper, Utah = MTB City, USA | Mountain Biking with MTB yumyum

I spent a day in Draper, Utah, with Jason from MTB yumyum and I was blown away by the quality and quantity of mountain bike trails. The city has a cycle park with beginner and advanced jump lines, a pump track and eventually a velodrome. There were tons of boys and girls out this day practicing at the park and it was an amazing thing to see. The next generation of mountain bikers are growing up quick.

Does your town have Draper beat?

I am impressed with how smooth of a rider Jason is. Usually only get to see his perspective and never a follow cam. Nice!

Don't get down on yourself too much with the jumps. I used to be the exact same way only 1 1/2 years ago. I would always sike myself out and say I would hit a Jumpline at full speed than hit the brakes right as get close to the lip. Once you case the first jump, you will case the rest. What finally got me better was following someone who knows the line and commit to follow him at his speed. To force yourself to hit at full speed get another buddy to ride behind you so you won't hit your brakes otherwise you will cause a crash. You are a great rider and been progressing so fast so I know you will be able to hit jumps in no time.

You should come back to SLC and ride these trails again to see how much you've progressed.

That's my backyard and where I cut my teeth learning to ride! This is seriously one of the videos that got me into riding a year ago and I forever thankful to you, Seth, and Alexander for being my motivation to go out and start riding.

Been watching your new videos and stumbled on this one, thinking about taking a trip out to Utah or even moving there in the future. Crazy watching your older videos to where you are now! Keep up all the amazing work you have done through the years. Your videos and others got me into the sport this year and its been literally life changing.

I’ve been sitting/laying down for nearly three months recovering from cancer radiation treatments. I have a ton of time on my hands and so basically all I do most days is watch mountain bike videos. Sounds better than it really is.
Anyway I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your videos and traveling all over the world with you. For me it’s been my escape from the pain and bordem I’ve experienced over these last months. So thank you for that.
Also as a native Utahn I have to admit I was super excited to see you riding trails I’ve been on. I’m glad you found on of the gems that is riding in Utah. Of course we have Moab and St George. Those have been well documented areas that you yourself have documented. But there’s so much more great riding in Utah which makes it one the greatest places on planet earth.
An earlier post mentioned another one Utah’s hidden gems, the Logan area of cache valley. That’s where I currently reside and that writer spoke truth. If you ever make your way back through Utah again you should put this area on your list to explore.
Thanks again for all you do. I very much enjoy your content

That looked like fun. Real fun. I don't jump either. At 66 years young. Started riding when I was 30. Enjoyed the video.

Hey, Brian! We met a few weeks ago, kinda. Anyway, it was in Downieville at Yuba Expeditions. You had just finished doing an exploration ride of a newly rediscovered trail. I was the quiet chick just hanging out--waiting for my next shuttle. Just wanted to say keep up the good work. I enjoy your videos. Your advice and experiences have expanded my horizons, and you've given me some awesome ideas for future rides and adventures. Thanks!

Hahaha Brian! Your reaction to the jumps in the beginning is literally me at snow summit. So relatable

That bike wow! What a cool place to call home, although in the winter 'cool' might be replaced by miserable. Loved the riding and the new trails that I haven't seen on yumyum.... Great stuff as usual brother.

Looks like the place was on fire! The reds and yellows of the leaves on the trees, and with the over exposure from the camera going through the shadows. Looks awesome!

Glad you're enjoying Utah! If you're after the best trails ever, you need to add southern Utah's Thunder Mountain, Blowhard, and Virgin River Rim trails to your list!
