I heard you need to get more water and immediately knew Fallout 1

"You picked ranger dude, this the only moment you're gonna get." 🤣🤣🤣 I love rangers.

He said they needed water, and I immediately went "Ah, so Fallout 1."

"It is a pity that you're dim-witted" is such a good line and one I hope I use soon

Time to admit my dark secret

I've never made it past the elevator shaft in vault 15 because I couldn't find the rope

For years I have referenced that opening rat fight in FO1 as the goofiest fight in video game history. Rats breaking their own legs, a rat crippling my knife arm, rats hitting other rats from yards away... truly a monument to greatest. I'm an old ass OG fan. Thank you Jacob! RIP Black Isle

Jacob, I cannot tell you the overwhelming look of both excitement and dread I got from my table when they caught on that everything they were playing was inspired by Disco Elysium.

My DM is heavily influenced by Soulslike games and I wouldn't have it any other way

I love how the players were just cool with playing an IP setting when the DM became honest about it.

4:06 genuinely caused me to like the video, I feel everything about this in the deepest depths of my soul

Yeah but imagine a whole session being a reference to a tense standoff in Breaking Bad and if you don’t completely follow along with the reference you die, pure terror.

My guy even referenced the low INT playthrough...

Absolute legend.

"I make sure to take my rope" 😂😂 I got stuck for a literal hour because of that 😂

Genuinely loled when he called the player Jacob, and again when calling the dm Jacob. Like, not even fake names? Legendary.

How does anyone know who you're talking to if everyone's name is the same? Eye contact? Who does that anymore

I had a literal fever dream earlier this week that I'd like to run a Treasure Planet campaign - I'm trying to figure out if there is any conceivable way I can keep that a secret from the players for more than like, half an hour, but I think I may just lean full on into it

The best game I've ever run is blatantly my best attempt at recreating BotW in a dnd game. Sometimes telling your players ahead of time actually leads to better characters, because then they have an idea of what might be useful. The Barbarian in the party picked up Athlete to climb cliffs, the Fighter came ready to switch between different weapons at a moments notice, etc. Keeping it a secret from the players can lead to a fun "Oh wow!" moment when its revealed, but just letting them know can lead to some incredible things as well.
