California lawmakers push to make housing a human right in state constitution

The plan would legally require state and local governments to provide and protect affordable housing. Some lawmakers and civil rights groups say enshrining the right to housing in the constitution would bring it to the same level as other rights.

Shelter is a human right, not housing. Every other person in the world has to work and pay for housing. CA always manages to outdo itself, just because well its CA.
