'10-'14 Mustang Rear Brake Pad Swap

Swapping pads on my shelby. I believe this is the same for all '10 to '14 mustangs. The earlier s197 mustangs used a 12mm headed bolt instead of 13mm.

Great video. I was throwing a fit trying to compress mine with some channel licks for a good 15 minutes before I gave up and YouTubed it. Had no idea about this kind of break piston

I'd also recommend cleaning and lightly lubricating the piston dust boot before driving the piston back in. It can help avoid driving grit past the seal and having the seal bind up / rotate / tear.

carefully use needle nose pliers. at the same time, open the valve at the break fluid reservoir to reduce resistance.

it’s a lot smoother than you think

Ik this is old but i just want to put this out there. WHY WHY This has to be one of the dumbest things you have ever designed. The front brakes are compress straight, but the freakin rear are turn in and compress. WOW. Fucking WOW. Helpful video bro.

I see you are running Cortex Supension...
me too, on a 2013 Mustang GT...
with Wilwood front breaks
what pads are you running in back?

Changed my rear pads a few weeks ago & now I'm hearing a grinding/rubbing noise coming from the pads/rotors. Have you experienced any noise like that? Gonna take the tires off & reinstall, hopefully that fixes the issue.
*also for my manual mustangs guys out there just a heads up, the e-brake needs to be disengaged or else the pistons won't compress.

is it safe to use copper anti seize on back of brake pad? is it safe on rubber piston boot?

Can you use the Rear Caliper Piston tool for fronts as well?

I'm conflicted I just changed all my pads and rotors and only paid 180 for the parts but it was a pain in my 🍑 and took me 8 hours I am not sure I would do this again and might just waste money having the dealer do it instead.

Did he drop the caliper and yank it back up by the brake line?

Hey man, I was wondering if you can check the video on my account. It makes a noise like if it were an old mattress every time I step the brake on it.

Hey man I wanted some advice on an incident I had in my mustang 2011 50 when I took off traction control on hit the curb with the back of my driver side wheel, it makes a squeaky noise like if my brakes are loose of something. I heard it might be the mount or the panhard bar if notvone or the lower or upper arm controls idk can you help me out with what you might think it is? I took it to a mechanic and they didn't know wtf was wrong with it so and I think have to get the rear suspension aligned or see if its geometry is messed up but other than that what do you think it might be?
