It's NOT just another crazy person...I nearly lost a friend to suicide this week because of chronic pain.

It's more than overpowering pain. It's the death of hope.

It's SO INCREDIBLY VALIDATING hearing all of this from a Doctor. Everyday people with chronic pain have to act as if we aren't in pain - that's more draining than just dealing with the pain. Pain every day of our lives can make us cranky, but if we are cranky we could lose our jobs.

It's also frustrating to try to get medication that can help with the pain, and the doctor is reluctant to prescribe it because they treat everyone suspiciously.

It was not Luigi's pain that causesd people to sympathize with the assassination. That was not in the news at first. People's reactions were in response to their own experiences and the experiences of their loved ones. Not because they had pain, but because they were denied treatment when they had paid into health insurance for years. Not only treatment for painful conditions, but necessary life-saving treatment.

I'm not in pain, but I have MS. For the last thirty years, I've had to fight insurance for nearly everything. This system is cruel.

I started out with severe IBS, then endometriosis, suffered 12 years with endo and 5 surgeries, finally had a complete hysterectomy 2006, then a year later osteoporosis that has gotten worse. Then started having back issue, bulging disc, herniated disc, spinal arthritis, spondylitis, the pain is never ending, now i have anxiety and depression on top of everything else, i wont give up, i wont give in. Prayers to all that suffer 🙏

As a chronic pain patient, it never gets better. It leads to thoughts of giving up. Our system is not helping anyone.

I don’t know the whole story but chronic pain needs to be addressed in this country . This needs to be publicized nationwide.

Being told my suffering is in my head and therefore not treated. It took years to get any treatment which led me to a horrible time of depression. Health care is in need of great change in this country. 😢

I’m a former oncology nurse. Spot on here. First thought i had was this chronic pain issue has to have caused massive psychological fallout. We are simply not built to endure it. Sounds like he was at a minimum severely depressed. Try having a toothache for a day. Then imagine living with that for years. Horrific. Such a sad waste of potential.

I remeber the guy who shot a VA doctor in 2022. What they didnt tell us, is the guy has back sugery and they gave him no pain medicine. He called the Dr, and Dr refused. He shot that Dr and went to his car and did himself. Being a chronic back pain patienr, oh how i know.

Chronic nerve pain is so terribly awful. When you go to several doctors over months in pain it will do harmful things to your body and mind. If I hadn't had too young children I would have ended it myself. I finally found a doctor who manage to find the C5 vertebrae injury and he fixed it for me. He also told my husband that he should apologize to me for not believing me, that I had been suffering a long time. Thank you Dr. Kaveh for doing what you do for all of us.

I had a failed 360° T-11 to L-2 back surgery and have suffered in severe chronic pain for over 25 years. Now that arthritis and spondylitis has emerged, every moment is sickening. I was cared for initially for about 10 years, but now at age 66, no doctor will help me! Thank you so much for bringing this sad story to attention.

I have been through so many pain management doctors it’s crazy. I injured my back in 1992 and had to be fused L3-S1. I’m now fused L2 down, have a pain stimulator as well as a pain pump. This barely touches my pain levels. I was 20 when this all started. Now I have fibromyalgia, arthritis and so much more. Sometimes I think I’ve done more research than doctors or insurance agents. There are times the fight doesn’t seem worth it.

I "gave up" on doctors, therapists, surgeries, ERs etc. After years of trying to get well. I signed a contract with my Primary doc, who put me on morphine. Was on same dose, same doc, same pharmacy FOR TEN YEARS.
My doctor died suddenly in July. I immediately began weaning myself.
It sucked, i lived.
Got myself "clean."
Went thru HELL trying to just find help with withdrawals!
It's horrible.
The War On Drugs has so many victims.

0:19 I wouldn't say Luigi's actions were MORE digusting than the wholesale cynical killing and torture of millions of people over decades by industry and corrupt politicians being payed off to do nothing. I'd say THAT is the far, far, far more disgusting of the two and THEY should have been put in jail, long, long ago, so that Luigi didn't now have to have ended up in this situation.
