when i see this it seams to me that one day reaper also might be the best video editing software out there, we need more people developing stuff for it!!!

Thanks Jon, great video. I kinda knew Reaper could do Video, but hadn't really looked at it. This has inspired me to replace some other tools I've been using, and just bought your Video course yesterday. Really useful.

One thing that I'd be interested in seeing is your FX chain for your voiceover in the videos.

Thank you so much for making this video. Tad from Witch Ape Studios turned me on to your blog/videos and I have been reading and watching the back catalog. I have been trying to decide what DAW to learn (I am new to digital work flows for audio, I'm old and grumpy and was still using a 4track cassette based recorder up until a year ago). I have also started to work with video again and one on my goals was to start putting out videos this year. When I saw that you use Reaper for production video too that really opened my eyes and I can't wait to try that this afternoon. I really love your video and it has already taught me so much. Please keep putting out this great content.

Hi, do you know how to setup camera recording? When I record guitar videos the biggest hassle right now is having to retrieve the sd card from the camera transfer to pc and import. It would be much easier if the video will get captured directly into reaper. Best

Great video as usual Jon. Just wondering why you don't just use reastream or rearoute with Reaper into OBS and capture the audio and video all at once?

Thanks for the great info and explanation Jon! Much appreciated. Also for the free 2 months @ skillshare, which should come in handy. Keep up the great work!

This is a great video, Jon, and very much in the same vein as your regular audio production videos, where you allow the viewer an inside look into your working process. I've just started using Reaper for video was pausing the video above a number of times to get a closer look at settings, for titles, for example. I didn't get the 'lower third' thing. Is that a separate video file with just a title insert effect or something else?

Reaper can ALMOST replace a lot of software I use when making videos.
If Reaper supported alpha video layers, allowed for basic colour balancing, and let you fade video in and out, it would totally remove the need to import and render in After FX or Premiere. I already split and dice up my videos in Reaper as it is much less CPU hungry than those two aforementioned programs. I know that implementing these "basic" video edit features is a much bigger ask than it might seem, but that would truly be amazing if my favourite DAW functioned as a basic video FX editor as well.

That was very interesting. Thank you.
Are there keyboard shortcuts which can be assigned to choose the different scenes?
I am asking because I only have one monitor, and do not want the OBS interface showing in the video.

Hi and thanks for your great vids. I am new to Reaper but really like the customization. How can I get all those knobs and buttons as you have? Is it possible to download your template? I have also Reapacks and SWS already installed.
