Deep Sky Processing Reduce Star Size

Many a times the aim of deep sky photography is to present a nebula prominently, but during shooting as well as processing stars get prominent and brighter and overwhelm the nebula, and the nebula can hardly be seen behind the stars. Ideally we should observe all precautions while shooting so that the captured star size is smallest. Precautions such as precise focus, no colour fringe around stars, not vibrations being transmitted to the equipment, steady atmospheric conditions, photograph the nebula near the meridian. Usually all of these precautions are not possible and we end up with thick stars in deep sky images.

Here is a video tutorial describing how to reduce star size in deep sky images.
