what a lovely Autumn walk about !!! In my garden, the Autumn blooms are camellias, tea olives, edgeworthia, anemones, asters (I prefer them over mums), hardy mums, the beauty berries, the sweet shrub, and of course the grasses ... you can always find something blooming every season ... that 's the fun, the challenge, of gardening - creating a space to enjoy all year long !!! and how wonderful, we as gardeners can enjoy each other's creations, knowledge, encouragement and inspiration thru the wonderful world of YouTube (and Facebook, Instagram, etc.) ...

Deep purple asters and goldenrod are my favorite fall combination up here along the IL/WI border. I also love walking in the prairies this time of year --there is something about the scent of all the grasses, and the seed heads of indian grass and big bluestem waving in the chilly breeze that is enchanting.

i just planted lots of end of season perennials that were on clearance. I am already seeing bees on them. This is notable because until now i have had no wildlife in my back yard. I'm going to add a couple of bird house now too. I hope by spring i have a thriving pollinator garden. I'm in Zone 7a.

Camellias are my favorite for fall and spring - delicate, colorful and the deep, glossy leaves~

I cut my autumn joy too mid summer and stick the cuttings in a pot. Easy to root and get free plants🙂

I didn't know about trimming upright sedum back by half in summer to reduce flopping. I was just outside thinking my sedum were floppy. I learn something new every video. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise. My yard looks so much better since finding your channel.

October is about fragrance in my zone 8b garden. Re-blooming antique roses look their best and are surrounded by salvias. Pineapple sage is a forever favorite. Ginger lilies are in full bloom. Tea olives perfume the air! I love it. Sitting on screen porch now listening to crickets and letting the wafting scent of moonflowers put me at ease. Special time of year

Many grasses really show out but my two favorites are Pink Muhly and Big Blue Steam. Just noticed my Penguin is putting on new growth too. Thanks Jim.

My asters, crape myrtle, salvia, are probably my most loved here in zone 8 in Oregon for fall.

I have a lime sizzler firebush that is really brilliant now. The color is great for fall. It's a tropical plant for zones 9a and higher and I'm in 8b but I'm only about 3 miles north of I-10 in Florida where I believe it changes from 9a to 8b so I really hope it will come back from the roots in the spring. I grew the regular green firebush in zone 9a before I moved 20 miles north to 8b and it died back after a frost but returned again from the roots in spring. It made it through last winter but we only had a few light frosts. (Yes, it sometimes goes below freezing in Florida zone 8b), Great hummingbird plant.

Love your videos and learning so much from them. Starting to take notes on plants I want to plant in my zone 7b garden in Knoxville, TN. Providing the names of plants is so helpful. My favorite fall blooming shrubs are Camellia sasanqua. I have several cultivars but the oldest and biggest by far is Yuletide. They put on a show for several months. Keep the videos coming…you’re one of the best on YouTube!!

We need to get more fruiting shrubs and trees in the ground to possibly bring in the more obscure variety of birds that don’t tend to stick around. In the 12 years we’ve lived in this house, I’ve only seen an Oriole once, Indigo Buntings 3 times, a Summer Tanager once, and a lone Red Breasted Grosbeak twice.

Love this video! You have given me many ideas for my new home, for next year. I love my Camillias and Roses and Mums. And my Fire bush is still putting on a big show here in zone 9b Texas. Your garden always amazes me with beautiful year round color and interest. Thank you for sharing Jim & Stephanie.
