Another strange thing I have experienced in a dream I felt I was in control and aware is A time I tried to wake myself up. It brought me to a strange old country house in the middle of some dark woods. There was a girl sitting by a well or something and I went to go rip her top off bc I knew I was dreaming. I looked away for a second and she was gone, Things got darker and I felt something bad was going to happen and I tried everything to wake myself up. Such a helpless feeling.

A trick I find helped with lucid dreaming is keep focus on the objects in your dream. Once you look away or blink I find they disappear and you end up in a different place. The tricky part is realizing you are dreaming. Its hard to say if you actually are realizing that you are dreaming, or your dream is about you realizing you are dreaming and you have no control. Ive had some dreams before where I felt completely in control and I was raping and killing everyone.
