Humax FVP-4000T Recorder - How to skip forward during playback

How to use the skip function on the Humax FVP-4000T recorder. It's not exactly obvious. This video shows how!

Thanks. Useful to know. This feature was much easier on older Humax boxes!
I've heard some negative reports about the user interface / user experience. Perhaps you might consider doing a fuller review of this box to illustrate the main menus, such as program guide, accessing recordings.

thanks for this! just trying to decide whether or not to buy this machine, & had read that that was an issue. it's so ridiculous! my sagem, which has just died, was easy to do that!

It didn't work right away for me because the cursor was moving between 'rewind', 'pause', 'fast forward' and 'stop' buttons underneath the seek bar. It turns out that you need to press 'up' first to select the seek bar instead of these options.

my new humax fvp-4000t arrived but when i press stand by button to turn on the tv noting happens why?

bought one. worst bit of electronic gear i've ever bought. switches off randomly, appears to lose all the recordings from time to time, tho' they do eventually reappear, after lots of faffing, but the worst thing, i've recently realised, is the remote. i thought it was the box not responding, but it's all the buttons on the hard plastic circular rocker affair & the ok button that don't work properly. my thumbs are permanently sore, and i'm permanently angry! i have to watch the red light after memorising the numerous sequences of button presses! my next job is to try & find a replacement remote. any suggestions anyone? (i'd forgotten about this video, so must now try this suggestion!) my remote is not like the one in this video! having said all that, when it does work, and when i can be bothered to attempt to scroll to the HD channels, i find the picture pretty good!!

Just bought one after my three year old YouView box died. The YV box was so much quicker, more intuative and a one button push to skip. I had to search to find this. Can't understand the stupid way this works
I've had a Humax Freesat and an old Humax Free view PVR for years and they were far easier.

Need a skip forward 10second option (like my Samsung smart TV) which is great for sports - ball goes out - press skip - they're just about to throw the ball

God. Humax used tonne amazin. Now to skip u gotta click two buttons. Worst still you've got to time it right. If the screen clears the skip won't work.

Humax FVP-4000T Freeview Play HD Recorder - 500 GB. Bought one to replace a new Samsung as that was so unfriendly to use. I had a Humax Freesat before and it was really good. Hence, I bought this box. I really wish I hadn’t, it is slow, unresponsive, you need to press buttons twice to get the remote to respond, then the box jumps, changing menus is slow, the egg timers on all the time. The recordings menu is completely unintuitive and difficult to navigate. The reception is terrible, my TV has no problems, but this Humax pixelates and goes blank constantly. Beware, Humax has lost it with this one.These are rubbish, slow
