The Lich VS Hunson Abadeer

Marceline‘s dad might want those things but he’s not obsessive about it like the Lich. Hudson seems like a real person apart from his evil nature while the Lich was best described by Prismo like a machine🤔

In the official Adventure Time Encyclopaedia, Hunson Abadeer admits the Lich is his only real rival, stating that, while he finds the Lich "pathetic, " the fact that the Lich is capable of destroying all of Ooo causes Hunson to take their rivalry seriously and that, had Finn not defeated him, he would have taken matters into his own hands. (Note: This was written before the episode "The Lich" was made. So, it sounds like Hunson Abadeer's pretty confident that he could take down the Lich.

Finn blasted him with the Gauntlet before he could finish restoring his full strength. So this whole time we’ve basically been watching a nerfed Lich. Lol that’s crazy to think about. 💀

I have a feeling Hudson has a similar mentality like Jake, low effort until it comes to something he cares about like his goals or family. Both also parents struggling to figure out how to parent. He could be capable but it's likely you'd only see that if he goes all Liam Neeson to save Marceline or stop the Lich.

Finn is also a good tool of measurement.

Without most of his development we see over the course of the show, Finn defeated Hunson twice. Using his gold sword, distraction, and a portal spell, Hunson was relieved of the captured souls and banished to the Nightosphere. The second time, Finn fought "Hunson" (Marceline with the amulet of chaotic evil) with his demon blood sword, a political rap, and grabbing the amulet, all _in_ the Nightosphere.

The Lich, on the other hand, required Finn to use the powers of Billy's gauntlet, intense emotion-fueled willpower for the first fight, teaming up with the Ice King for the second fight (while the Lich was in Princess Bubblegum's Body), chancing upon some guardian blood from the Citadel in the fourth fight, using the Finn Sword, the wish cannon, and swaying Farmworld Finn in the fifth fight, and teaming up with Fern and Sweet P before Sweet P can be swayed by the Lich in the sixth fight.

This all heavily points to the Lich being the superior opponent. Even growing smarter and more skilled along the series, the Lich would've crushed Finn in most of the battles if Finn was unaided by something far stronger than he is (like Jake's wish, the luckily-placed guardian blood, and a good version of the Lich).

Lol, there's also the fact he's "deathless". It's probably one of the reasons he scoffs at the lich cause he can't kill him 🤣. One other reason I thought was that he had pure access to chaos magic through his necklace. I really wish they fought.

but the lich doesn't even upsets, I think he is the kind of villian who wouldn't give a shit about insults about him, he would reply with some wise-evil speech while also doing his job

I think Hunson Abadeer is limited in strength and power when outside the nightosfeer which is why he gets so easily defeated and bound while the Lich has no such limitation.

Peppermint Butler went golfing with Abadeer as there is a picture of the two together doing just that in the show.

That same Peppermint Butler was absolutely freaking out that he was in the same room as the Lich. And keep in mind, that same room had GGGG (a Martian deity), Prismo (a cosmic wish-master), Jake (the dog), and Death along with other cosmic beings. Peppermint Butler fully believed that the Lich could kill all of them, a god, multiple cosmic entities, Jake, Death, and himself, who’s powerful enough to have a cult dedicated to him form in the future and it took Jake showing Pep that the Lich won’t move to calm him down even after Prismo’s assurance.

The Lich and Hunson Abadeer would stalemate. The Lich technically already killed Hunson once, although it was through a wish. Despite not *physically* living before Hunson, the Lich is an embodiment of a primordial that exists outside of space-time. Not to mention *two* of the Lich exists in EVERY universe in the infinite multiverse bc of the events in the Farmworld Universe. Coupled with his high intellect and consistant ability to survive, it's probably a High-Diff stalemate

I don't think they have the same goal. The lich succeeding means no more new souls for him to ensnare. I know reincarnation is canon in adventure time, so technically there are no "new" souls. Although, I'm not sure how reincarnation is affected by souls strapped in the nightosphere. Still though, the difference between them is that one wants dominion over life and the other wants to extinguish it permanently.

There is probably some link between the nightosphere and Golb. The entire dimension is blood red just like him and Hunsons amulet fills anyone wearing it with "chaotic evil." Golb is the embodiment of chaos.
