Where to Find and Catch Walleye - Spring Walleye Fishing

Spring is one of my favorite times of year to chase walleyes. Pitching jigs and crank baits in shallow water is for sure one of the most enjoyable ways to catch a walleye. Location is everything in the spring. Not all spots or all of the shallows how fish equally. In this video I talk about 3 areas I look for spring walleyes. Sand, weeds, rock. I hope this video helps put more fish in your boat. Thanks.

From those of us on YouTube to learn, and not just watch people get overly excited about catching every fish... THANK YOU! for taking time to explain to us anglers.

Like the dual video Tom. Great educational info on the 3 spots for spring walleye. Seems like good sonar and side imaging is key

I like the camera angles, picture in picture, and the fact you don't use a chest mount where all we see is your hands. Solid information, thanks.

great video! can you give a recommendation on kinds of crank baits? and jigs? my family is trying to get better at fishing early walleye this year and would love some more complex bait ideas than a leach. It is gonna be hard to wait a whole week for opener 2021. Thanks for any help and the content, have a great season.

I'm really liking your new boat. Makes me wish I still had storage room to also keep my tiller. I can almost feel the cool, fresh air as I watch your videos. Another great one, sir!!

What can you recommend for an entry level to mid level side imaging unit? Does it work ok in rivers? Swift current?

If you ever have an urge to come down to Petenwell Lake send me a message. I'd love to get on some walleye and see if your techniques will work on that system. I've used your slip bobber setup and that worked well when I could find a tree stump, but with it being a constant changing river bed system, I have a hard time figuring out the structure to use some of these techniques.

Do you think my 1756 mod v lowe with a 70 tiller would be good boat for low wind on mille lacs? Not out on the flats but just 10-20fow

you talked of natural lakes to fish this style. Does this also apply to really clear water. Fishing some natural lakes in northern Saskatchewan with similar structure, rock sand etc.

How do you know it’s a sand bottom and not just mud/muck?
