My son had to wrestle a girl in middle school. It was horrific. He was aggressive and while at first not pushing the pace too fast, made a move to gain her back and riding her. Unfortunately she was severely injured, a collarbone break. The scream in that gym was something I'll never forget. Her parents came out on the mat and was upset and yelling about my son. A young lady should never be on a mat with a young man. Period. The strength mismatch is obvious and great. Girls wrestling girls more power to ya. Thankfully he only wrestled one girl in high school. Quick and also without injury to the girl. Thankful for that.

This should be considered an educational film showing why boys and girls should not compete in sports together.

I bet most of those pins would have happened even quicker if those boys weren't worried about where their hands went. In THIS day and age especially, I wouldn't allow my son to be on the mat with a girl. Accidental hand plus girl pissed she lost, OR Karen mom deciding she thought an intentional 'feel' was copped = His life ruined before it began.

I couldn't stand how people would try (and fail) to guilt me afterwards.
"You were wrestling a girl. Did you have to be so aggressive?! Gosh."
This is wrestling. They know what they signed up for. Deal with it.

I was training Judo back in my childhood, at 8. There was a very strong girl, same age, and she mostly won on the ground against all of us (boys, girls, child group right).
The whole gym was just wow how strong she is. Couple of years ago, we were ca 12-13, she had no chance against us anymore. She could win only against the other girls and she just quitted. Sooner or later biology shows the hard truth.

There was a girl on my wrestling team in high school. She would win her matches because her technique was some of the best I've ever seen in high school, she even made it to state. Unfortunately against wrestlers with technique closer to hers, she would just get overpowered. Glad Colorado split into boys and girls leagues and she was able to win State.

There is no upside for boys competing with girls in sports. When boys win, it is expected. If boys lose, they become low tier & ridiculed. Respect the differences so both boys & girls can thrive

Why is this even a "thing." It is idiotic. My granddaughters are highly skilled competitive tennis players. When they were 7, 8, and 9 they could beat a lot of the boys. But when the boys hit their early teens, it was over. The boys developed in strength and speed. In tennis they separate the boys and girls so the girls have a chance to win. Not only are the boys stronger and faster, they are far more aggressive. They will run through brick walls to win a match.

Had a friend back in highschool and middle school that had to wrestle girls and he made it a point every damn time to show no guilt or take any guilt for beating the girls. The guy was literally doing the randy orton victory pose any time he won or when people would try and guilt him for winning, dude was so damn funny lol. For those wondering he didnt hate any of the girls or enjoyed beating them he just got tired of all the comments and decided to just be "the bad guy" to play it off.

I’d much rather see this than a guy who THINKS he’s a girl competing against other girls. This is a true win/loss, no BS woke crap involved.

Nothing but love and respect for the females that rolled on that mat with me but it always bothered me that athletic programs didn’t promote women’s wrestling in my state. The females had to wrestle us or not at all and that right there shows the heart and courage they had.

I'm a woman and I've wrestled against guys in tournaments, let me say everyone in the comments are wrong!!!
Jk! I got my butt rocked. Competing against men ain't no joke. It's crazy it's even done. Had many injuries by being placed in the wrong gender division.

It can be tough for the young boys cause girls develop quicker than boys. I've seen a couple boys get beat by girls and its pretty sad. Typically those boys who have been taught since they were toddlers to not be rough with girls are naturally timid when stepping on the mat with one. I've seen boys that have decided to get aggressive and end it quick, to eliminate any chance of humiliation and getting booed by the crowd. It's really a lose, lose for the boys.

This is stupid and dangerous, in high school I would have crushed a girls skull, just a matter a time until she meets real power. This should be illegal!

have to love the enabling, deluded parents with comments like "peel the hand" "be aggressive" etc.. like that is going to matter.

What's interesting is, you can visibly see the boys trying to not straddle the girls, and watching their hand placements. So, they were going pretty easy on them.

I was on my junior high school wrestling team back in the late 70s. A girl came out for the team. Keep in mind this was way before this kind of stuff was commonplace. She wrestled my weight class. I can't even remember the weight class, 110, something like that, so I had to wrestle her every practice. Her technique wasn't bad, and I was no state champion, but I could easily defeat her because it was easy to overpower her. The funny thing was we all got used to her, and over time we didn't think much about the fact that she was a girl. The interesting part was we didn't really have anybody competitive for the weight class above us so she would routinely represent the team at matches at that weight class. She was the only girl so she would weigh in in the girls locker room alone. She would join us after she weighed in. When a we traveled for away matches that's when things got real interesting. She was a spectical. She beat a couple dudes along the way too. We would go nuts, but the other team would be like, "Holy crap, what just happened?" You can get away with combined competition at an early age, but as boys and girls age, the physical differences become more pronounced.
