Agreed. This was in all the body building books in the 80s/90s (similar machine, too). I think even Arnold even said it was one of the best upper body movements. I tried to do it, but it always seems to tax my triceps more than anything. The machine was perhaps a bit better in isolating the chest/back.

I love pullovers. I just rotated them back into my workout a few weeks ago. I was again reminded of just how compound this exercise is. It lit up my core, chest and lats in places my other lifts hadn't been hitting. It also works grip strength differently than most other popular lifts. I have puny wrists, so this really helps me.

My favorite variation is the barbell pullover while always squeezing my hands in like I'm trying to bring them together. You can even play with different grip distances.

This is the only way I can do weights for my triceps due to a damaged anterior shoulder from breast recon years ago. It gives me stability while still being able to get the benefit of the exercise. Thanks for the great explanation and example!!

I love pullovers! Do them a fair amount. I feel my abs working too when doing them

The dumbbell pullover is one of my favorite movements. Very underrated. I did 4 sets of 12 today. Great stretch on the lats and chest.

The reason the pullover is not used is because it puts an extreme pressure on the shoulder ball and socket.

The only reason I don't do this is because I'm really clumsy. My ex use to ensure he was right over me when I did certain exercises - this was one of them.

This one is simply marvellous :) It helps to open up the chest by mobilizing ribcage (eventhough it may sound scary for many) as well as increases lung capacity ;)
