DP/30 @ Telluride: La La Land, Damien Chazelle

Damien Chazelle burst onto the scene with Whiplash two years ago, garnering not only a Best Picture nomination, but 3 Oscar wins (including J.K. Simmons) and a personal nomination for Best Screenplay. In 2016, his bigger dream, an original musical, has come to the screen and already won awards at Venice and Toronto. Chazelle spoke to David Poland about the film. (Minor Spoilers)

I remember seeing his last DP/30 right before Whiplash came out and I was amazed by how articulate and passionate he is. He proves to be able to incorporate music into cinema so seamlessly. I reckon we'll see some more movies that'll eventually become classics from this man.
