Miyoo Flip Review: Good Now, Better Later

The Miyoo Flip is still a work-in-progress handheld, but we've got some solid hardware to work with. Here is my review of the handheld today, and a showcase of the promise it holds for the future.

The yellow model is definitely inspired by the Pikachu concept art Miyoo kept showing last year.

The charging is disappointing, I hope that Miyoo will add a resistor to the board in the future, if possible, to allow charging with any cable. It's in the MM v4 so I think they can do it.

The pastel buttons are girly pop and I love them

My fav is actually the white one, looks so clean and cozy. lol and has a different color scheme for the analog sticks and neutral grey accents all the way around. I'd say the more unique colorway in the bunch.

I wish reto handheld reviewers would test bluetooth headphones with them. I think lots of people want to know this.

Also, to the manufacturers, make your handhelds work with Bluetooth headphones, especially if they are a travel friendly device. Me personally, I play in bed and around my house, I also play on flights.

I would like a clamshell (GBA SP-like) with a 3:2 ratio that perfectly pixel scale from the GBA... I know it sound a bit picky, but with a model going out every 10 minutes, I think is not too much to ask!

I quite like the pastel face buttons on the white one, you don’t see that color palette often in this space. I also like the two tones on the analog sticks for the white one. Normally I’m always a sucker for an SNES color way but that white one looks super nice to me.
