Cell-to-cell fusion: the key to COVID-19 infection?
Watch as SARS-CoV-2 infected cells fuse with neighbouring ones (right timelapse), forming large multi-nucleated cells; a process known as syncytia formation. In contrast, the timelapse on the right shows healthy cells maintaining normal growth and morphology.
