Ano ang VoLTE? | Simpleng Paliwanag
Показать описание
Ano nga ba ang VoLTE? Ito an ba ang papalit sa lumang paraan ng calls kung saan gumagamit ang phone natin ng 2G at 3G signals lang?
P.S.
If no VoLTE icon appears on your signal bar when you make or receive a call, your SIM card might not be VoLTE activated. Other reason could be that the other user has no VoLTE or the signal can only connect to 2G/3G.
Basta may VoLTE ka at ang kausap mo sa call may VoLTE, magpapakita na dapat ang icon sa signal bar sa taas.

My NOTES:
What is VoLTE?
VoLTE
- Voice over Long-Term Evolution
- 3x more voice and data capacity than 3G UMTS
- 6x mora than 2G GSM
- it means doing voice calls using LTE connection instead of old legacy voice networks such as 2G and 3G networks
POSSIBLE BENEFITS:
- Better voice quality than 2G and 3G (provided with stable data signal)
- HD calls
- Be able to do video call using native or system dialer without the use of a third-party app
- faster call connection from typical 6 seconds to only 1-2 seconds.
- Since calls will be made using internet data, a smartphone won't need to switch back to 2G just so you can receive a call.
- this will also minimize disconnection while playing online games
- Battery-friendly because your phone does not need to switch data signals
- VoLTE works well with VoWiFi, which means indoor calls which suffers from slow GSM signal will have better call experience using this technology.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- VoLTE is device and network dependent
- this means your smartphone must have VoLTE support. GSM smartphone won't work on this anymore.
- also, the network must activate VoLTE support for all its towers
- your SIM card should also support LTE
**Is VoLTE available for all subscribers?
- Smart’s Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE services are currently available to all Smart Signature, Smart Infinity, select Smart Prepaid and select TNT subscribers.
- GLOBE says: VoLTE and VoWiFi is only available right now for postpaid customers.
- DITO telecommunity offers VoLTE straight using their SIM, provided your area is included to their initial broadcast and your device supports it.
**Will there be extra charges for using VoLTE/VoWiFi?
- SMART says: SMS and voice calls made with Wi-Fi Calling and VoLTE will be charged like normal calls against your active subscription.
- GLOBE says:
- VoLTE will work only when both parties are using VoLTE device and their networks support it
- SMART says, you can still make a call to non-VoLTE users but expect some drop in quality
- Note that VoLTE and VoWiFI works in a similar manner. That means VoLTE to VoWiFi call is as good as VoLTE and VoLTE call.
- if your phone supports both VoLTE and VoWiFi, it is recommended that you enable both.
- Note that not all handsets with VoLTE support can use Smart, Globe, and DITO's VoLTE services. BUT, they promised that they will update their supported device list as often as possible.
HOW TO KNOW IF PHONE SUPPORTS VoLTE?
- Go to Settings - SIM or Mobile Data - look for 4G calling or VoLTE or VoWiFi and enable it.
- If you can't find it, your might not support VoLTE
QUESTION:
- What do you think of VoLTE?
- Does your phone support it?
