"Everytime we put a pleco in the tank it got killed by gus, so we'll keep doing that until until it works"

At that point it’s like you were doing it purposefully, throwing tiny little plecos knowing your fish in that specific tank are aggressive.

Reminder not to release these fully armored fish into your ecosystems after they get too large. Aside from just eating everything there-there are little to no fish (at least in the U.S.) That can efficiently cull their numbers

You know plecos hide from
Predators typically…. So they don’t get eaten. You keep throwing them in the line of fire. Fingers crossed for this one.

Just wait until that Pleco absolutely needs a bigger tank

The bio load on that tank is gonna create a borderline poisonous tank that could go septic and crash easily

The fact that you just raw dogged a pleco with bare hands hurt me to my core

Get the fish a pond, Gus would love it

Common plecos will crash you tank if they get too big...and they will get big. Bristlenose plecos will only grow to about 5 inches which is suitable for most 80+ ltr home aquariums. Also you gotta feed them

Make sure to feed him algae wafers they run outta natural food in the tank fast

Nah, gus said, "Every time I drop this fool off, he comes back bigger"

Plecos are horrible fish for tanks.. they only clean when they are young. Once they get around 8-12 inches them mfs are gonna just eat regular food, try to take slime coats off other fish, huge bio loads from them alone. Plus they get absolutely massive. I do not recommend plecos to anyone.

Go to petco and get that beautiful fish some bug bites. No “meal” no filler no crap. Just protein and veggies. Good fish food. My guppies and koi also love it.

If you've put every Pleco in the same way then it's no wonder they all died before, if you add new fish with the lights on then predatory fish (like Bass) are way more likely to assume they are food. Every half decent acclimation guide says to shut your lights off for a period while adding fish for that exact reason and/or to reduce stress. Please do research on any fish before getting them because for starters Plecos only "clean your tank" if you're starving them of their proper diet, and they are not strictly algae-eaters, most types eat wood and aufwuchs but some are carnivorous. Please don't spread misinformation or abuse animals for views on the internet.

Don't get it twisted, Gus is tolerating Mr. Clean: only through necessity, NOT by choice

I had a pleco that was an inch and a half long when I bought him. I had him 8 years, and he grew to a foot long. When I disassembled my tank, I sent the pleco to a pet store that had a pond in the store. He was 15" when I gave him up.

Gus Is the typical bully that when someone too big to push around pulls up, he becomes passive and friendly

I loved watching my pleco grow from about an inch long to nearly 10 inches long before he passed ...it was so sad he was a cutie
