Snapdragon 8 Elite BEAST! | IQOO 13 Unboxing & Review

Unboxing Vivo's IQOO 13, a global Snapdragon 8 Elite smartphone boasting impressive gaming performance and excellent battery life. After one week of using the IQOO 13 as my full time phone, here's my review of the camera tech, everyday performance etc and how it handles games.

We're expecting a glut of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite powered mobiles in 2025, with Samsung's Galaxy S25 series and the global Xiaomi 15 and Honor Magic 7 on their way. But for now, Vivo's IQOO 13 shows us that this chipset is the real deal. While the camera tech isn't as impressive as some other flagship smartphones, there's lots to love. Gaming is an absolute delight, boosted by the fully featured game mode. And this is one of the top phones for battery life, as the IQOO 13 can last as long as any other phone.

That's all wrapped up in a rather slick, if slightly iPhone-esque chassis. You have BMW inspired design although it's rather subtle, plus a premium OLED phone display. Battery charging is still nippy at 120W (although there's no wireless support). And the IQOO 13 also comes with Android 15 out of the box.

I'm bummed that we're still stuck with hole punch cameras for the 6th generation running. It's a catch 22 situation with under-display cameras because in order to become as good as hole punch cameras they need widespread adoption to drive innovation, but in order to gain widespread adoption they need to become as good as hole punch cameras.

IQoo 13 got one of the best processors, one of the best batteries, one of the best screens (BOE Q9 much better than other rivals except OnePlus 13) it has battery bypassing feature like gaming laptops to play on charge without affecting the battery health, the only downside is the camera, mostly because Vivo ditched Periscope lens with a two times telephoto lens which is a downgrade, overall it is the best budget gaming phone

Looks like Xiaomi design flagship, which it looks clean and the add of BMW accent looks very premium. Nice to have a fresh looking phones.

I am still yet to see ACTUALLY better gaming phone than my OnePlus Ace 3 pro. 2K + 120fps boost AT THE SAME TIME, that what a beast of a gaming is. Doesn't matter how much "better" the new phones are in gaming, if they can't give me upscale + frame boost at the same time for less price than Ace3 pro, I don't want to hear anything about being a new "beast" in gaming.
But for you, TechSpurt, thanks for the content. As always, top-quality and straight to the point.

Snapdragon 8 Elite phone at a upper midrange price. Some missing features, and some unexpected features. So no wireless charging shouldn't be a problem, with the battery capacity and efficiency. The cameras are okay, but the telephoto camera is as good as others with 5x/10x. I suspect the settings need a bit of fine tuning. The phone probably needs some updates to sort some of the bugs and issues.
