How to make plantains or green fried bananas. 🍌🍌

Try to find thick green bananas. Cut ends off and slice the peel down the middle. Cut in to 1/2 inch pieces. Fry them until golden brown on both sides take them out of the oil let them cool for a minute or two, smash them down until the are round and flat and put them back into the oil and add salt to taste.

Fried when green they are called “tostones” and fried when ripe, they are called “amarillos” or “maduros.” I live them ripe and fried

You said it wrong, your plantains aren't about to go bad they're about to ripen. Plantains can be cooked at any stage of ripeness. But this isn't about to go bad, it doesn't matter where you come from, a ripe plantain is when its yellow; Cuban or not.

When the plantians turn yellow that’s when it is completely ripe and sweet and cook it in oil soooo good.

About to go bad, they just came off the tree 😂 But seriously all jokes aside, they start at green, then go yellow and then brown. Try cooking them when they get in-between the yellow and browning part. They are so much better and sweet. Never cook green plantains, they're ripe.

huh? Go bad? Most people wait until they ripen to eat them. Green plantains are predominantly used for plantain chips, plantain porridge or fufu. Other times they are fried when ripe and used as a side dish…
