When I was younger, I was taught that be called a “fairy” as a boy was a bad thing. But there was always something so magical about fairies to me. I never could forget the fairy king from one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays (let me know if you know which one I’m talking about, heh).

I’m 34 years old now, but sometimes I still feel like the little lonely kid I was trying to find myself and the confidence I needed to become my own "fairy king" of sorts. I’m still trying to remember to love myself and to be proud of who I have become. I guess self-discovery is a lifelong journey.

I’ve been having dreams of me living as a fairy in a forest of fairy friends, and that’s what inspired this song. I guess with everything happening in the world right now, I keep dreaming of an escape from reality. Wouldn’t it all be nice if we could live as fairies in peace in harmony with each other?
