Global Economic Prospects: Fall 2023

Join the Peterson Institute online for the fall 2023 release of the PIIE Global Economic Prospects, the Institute’s semiannual outlook for the US and global economies.

PRESENTERS

• Karen Dynan, PIIE nonresident senior fellow, will present the projections for the US and global economies with a focus on the trajectory for inflation, its implications for monetary policy, and the prospects for a “soft landing.”

• Alejandro Werner, PIIE nonresident senior fellow, will address the economic outlook for Latin America, detailing short-term monetary and fiscal policy choices, electoral risk in some countries, and medium-term growth challenges and opportunities.

• Arvind Subramanian, PIIE senior fellow, will discuss recent developments in the Indian economy, explaining the debate over the quality and reliability of the country’s growth data and its crucial role in assessing whether the economy is surging or decelerating.
