NYPD officer in shooting inside Brooklyn subway station

Police said the officer was struck under the left armpit. He is expected to make a full recovery. Two civilians and the suspect were also struck by gunfire. CBS News New York's Lisa Rozner has the latest.

So the short version is 2 cops shot the perp who had a knife, 2 innocents and one of the cops either shot himself or his partner.

Hate to say this, but all this is the fault of the cops. Yea that dude started it with his knife situation. Regardless, that dude never fired a gun. The cops did that! America needs a law stating police can only use guns on suspects with guns. I live in London and we have high knife crime rate and armed/non-armed police arrest armed suspects everyday without using guns. Even armed counter-terrorism police won't shoot a suspect welding a sword let alone a knife. They would surround the suspect, use taser and spray from distance and send the dog in. If knife/swordsman charges them they don't shoot but literally back off. None of this "stand your ground"

We SHOULD NOT defund the police. We need to fund the police to focus their training to include hand on hand combat to deescalate situations and be able to minimize the use of firearms. BUT this city doesn't have enough officers so they are forced to quick hire and quick train officers. soo thank you Democratic party for making this city "safe" with your policies...
