DroidNavtex decodes NAVTEX messages from your receiver through the Android phone or tablets microphone or through a connected interface.
NAVTEX broadcasts worldwide on 518 kHz and 490 kHz using a data mode called SITOR-B (amateur radio (Ham Radio) operators might recognise it as AMTOR).
You need to have a receiver which can receive 518KHz or 490KHz SSB to use this app!!
Special audio filters even decode very weak signals through the microphone and make DroidNavtex a very affordable alternative to high priced decoders.
An "Auto mode" finds the frequency and the sideband of the Navtex signal automatically. With "Auto mode" turned off the frequency and sideband can be adjusted manually.
A built-in database stores the received messages which can then be filtered, sorted and shared. Messages can be deleted individually, in groups or by age.
To save battery power 7 timers can be set to start DroidNavtex at a given time to decode messages. All timers can be set in local time or UTC.

This is amazing software. Works so well with any kind of signal and is really fun to use. My wife does not like to hear radiofax or navtex sounds, so I soldered together a "pad" cable to convert 3 pin stereo phone jack line level audio into 4 pin mic level audio to plug into the android phone and it makes the software work even better! Thanks and good luck!

Can you connect a SDR directly via an OTG adapter and input the audiostream directly into the app?

Does Navtex always broadcast repeatedly (so I can check it any time) or would I have to keep the setup running until sometimes a message will be broadcasted?

Why can´t  access to the set up menu? The  3 keys of my device launch out of Droidnavtex. Any tip?Thanks
