Folger Adam Detension Jail Lock Picked and Gutted [147]

Lock picking of a Folger Adam Detension lock. This lock has 5 levers and is HUGE. The levers have nasty false gates as well. I got this awesome lock from my good friend Thumper. Here is a link to his channel (but I'm pry sure you know him already)

One of the silliest use of a Folger Adam lock I have ever seen is at an immigration jail. It was an air force barrack and the door is a flimsy plywood door that weights maybe 10 pounds at most, locked with a Folger Adam lock. A good kick would have sent it flying.

It's feels really good when you get a good pick on camera. I noticed the bolt that goes through the gates has sharp edges just to help it get stuck in those false gates. I love watching a video when someone takes you through their thinking process. Excellent job sir, well done and what a beast of a lock too.

I have several of these locks I’ve made my tension wrenches and wires and have picked them open lots of tension required.

Well done, excellent technique -- These are very cool and extreme heavy duty "jail" locks -- thanks for sharing

I’d disagree with starrylock regarding a jailbreak since anyone knows that they don’t allow prisoners to have anything metal and they do frequent searches.

Plus even if you escape from your cell, still have to get past several security doors, navigate past guards who are armed as most jails/detention centers are in police stations at least in the USA.

At most it’s escaping your cell, cell locks are big and monitored both by camera and physically.

I can appreciate seeing what a German cell lock looks like and the use of the Allen wrench and the lever lock wires.

I am curious to know who provided the lock? A current or former guard?

Or one of the people who install the locks in the cell blocks?

Always wanted to see one of these picked, I'm not planning Time Travel any time soon, If back in the Old West, nice to know it's not pick proof. Am sure I would run into some Back Shootin, High Gradin Jasper. Good Work

Another thing that also makes picking this pointless is that the key is quite large, and is very easy to duplicate. There have been people who have such good memory that they can take one good look at the key, and then file a piece of metal to duplicate a working key for it. That the key is large doesn't help. However a common way for inmates to duplicate the key is to steal the key, imprint it in chewing gum or other pliable materials, then copy it after returning them (so the guards don't trigger a lockdown). Good luck doing that with modern dimple multi-sided keys.

Though if you live in a safe country where home invasion isn't a thing (unfortunately not the USA), one could use one of these Folger Adam locks as their house key for novelty reasons...
