75% of records are either warped, have torn labels, scuffed surfaces, or seam splits. It takes the joy out of it for me.

One of many reasons why I welcomed CDs as a breath of fresh air back in the 80s and 90s.
If you also add in the myriad of other defects that so often afflict LPs, it's really sad that these problems are happening all over again. From the many product reviews I've read on Amazon and eBay, it must be a very frustrating experience collecting vinyl in 2024 - worse still, you're paying several times the price!
As far as used vinyl goes, you're at the mercy of the record dealer, some are real pros you can trust - but some are not and are heavily invested in kidology. I'm being polite! "Yeh mate, it looks a bit rough but it PLAYS WELL". But it doesn't of course, it sounds appalling.

The labels brag about tip-on jackets but offering a jacket with reenforced seams would be better. Acoustic sounds sent me one too. Shipping dept needs refresher course.

I have been selling records for ages and I always remove the vinyl from the outer sleeve unless they are sealed of course, my heart goes out to you with the seam split issues, great vlog keep up the great work and keep safe and well always 😆😉.

I used to work for HMV and they often couldn't even send them from their warehouse to their own stores without damaging them.

One of my pet peeves and a big reason why I've almost stopped buying vinyl, there's no reason why it should happen imo

Hi that’s horrible it’s happened to me and im always concerned ordering online and what happens in shipping . They should probably not put records in jacket when shipping. My kick inxs 75th back cover of jacket had creases in . I kept it music and pressing are amazing. Hope you get this and the genesis resolved. Take care joe

Its always a bummer when that happens and by and large it is easily preventable. Despite that being a substantial mailer, the packing is mostly at fault as the record can rattle around, it needs further securing. The ones that Juno use, have a set of flaps that fold over the records inside the mailer and prevent it sliding around and any more than 2/3 albums they bind in bubble wrap too. And even then I have the beginnings of a seam split on occasions.

You may ask if they could remove the records from the jacket next time to avoid seam splitting. I’ve never had that issue with Acoustic Sounds mailers.

I haven't touch wood had anyy issues with my discs in this series that I ordered from Diverse Vinyl here in the U.K. and had overall been very impressed with the presentation and mastering of the titles.

There's too much slop inside the jacket and the edge of that 200g disc is like f***in' razor.

Ridiculous with this happening to so many Cuss-to-mers that AS has not fixed the problem, just needs an additional insert to keep the LP static, problem solved.

A real shame. Don't let them off the hook. "Bud" is who I deal with at AS when issues arise. The (great) box design doesn't mean squat when it arrives like that.

Those jackets seem to be quite brittle. I bought the Buddy Holly album ( Acoustic Sounds ) from a European seller but the seam split really spoilt what was a special purchase for me .

All that way to arrive and a split - what a pain now email them back etc etc - Should they not send with vinyl out of jacket ??? For the price they change !

I live in Ireland. I have had this issue before with AP. They insist they will ship the replacement cover only with the next purchase you make as an international customer. It means you have to buy something else and pay shipping and customs unfortunately.

Do you find it cheaper to buy direct with postage costs compared to buying via a UK shop that will order them for you. I use a shop that just charges £5 postage although the cost per album is higher.

The vinyl is too heavy for the sleeves and this kind of damage will happen in transit. They should as a matter of course remove the records before sending Norman Records offer this service and all shops should follow suit
This is doing Acoustic Sounds no favours I certainly wouldn't order from them
