One month left to get your "Explore Humanity" T-shirt!

While the solo journey might be over, the adventure that Sophie and I are on is just gearing up. We have some really fun plans in the making (Polar Seal II?) and you can expect a lot more exciting things from us over the coming year!

But first I need to take some time to thank those that made my trip across the Atlantic possible because, as I said many times in the series ‘just because you are sailing alone does not mean you are alone"

First, thank you to our patron crew – you are all an amazing bunch and always keep an eye out for us. Your words of encouragement along the way were a beacon of hope and inspiration and will never be forgotten.
A big thanks to my weather router Charly from Myweatherrouter. Com. Charlie is more than a weather router, he is a friend.
Andy Schell and Steven Landcaster were the beset mental support, shore support a guy could ask for. I want to thank my parents – cause they don’t ask questions, they just support, and Sophie – No words are needed. I love you.

WOW! You've convinced me. I've been watching you and your vids for months now. You've inspired me to get certified in sailing requirements and its almost complete.
I'm in my mid 60s, and in good health, so screw it all, I'm selling the house, cashing in the 401K, and I'm gon'a buy a 40+ft sail boat and set sail for a world adventure.
Thanks for the inspiration.

This has been a good series on Ryan's solo. Perspective is so important. I'm a former CFII and cop. I'll give you a few thoughts on dealing with things:

The next time you guys are in the middle of the ocean thinking a few weeks is forever, consider that the first people that will travel to Mars will be on a six month one way trip in a tin can in the vacuum of Space. That makes three weeks in an ocean full of fish and natural oxygen seem like nothing.

When you encounter bad things, but have to operate and focus, throw those mental bits of baggage in a box, tape up every corner and throw it in the back of your mind and function on your tasks & make new ones. When it's over there will be plenty of time to unpack it, if you choose to do so.

And finally, there are two ways to deal with things: Emotionally or rationally. When you operate on emotions, tempers flare and passion reigns and that's usually when bad things can happen. When you take the rational path, decision making improves.

Cheers!

Well done and congratulations on an amazing achievement, Ryan. That shaky start would have put many off but you overcame your fears and doubts, and persevered. A great solo trip indeed.
