My only baby didn’t cry, and while he looked okay, they still called the NICU to make sure all was good. They came in and checked him out, and he was good, they just said he is very chill. He’s 12 now, and does cry. He did not cry much as a baby, so I had to keep myself on a schedule because he did not cry to remind me to feed him or change him. These were just things I, as a new mom, thought he would do.

Mine didn't cry right at first, just made a little mumbling 'blah!' and looked around. She certainly found her voice in the middle of the night when she woke up hungry!

Yeah my baby came out did one tiny whimper and went to sleep. Everyone was super concerned something was wrong with him. He was just tired and loves to sleep. 😂

My sister didn't cry at all. She came out and said "Eh" and then was silent. My mom was really worried and asked why she wasn't crying. The staff said, "she's fine. She's awake, she's breathing, she's looking around. She just doesn't feel like crying." 😂

My C-section baby screamed before she was out. I heard a baby crying and said 'she's out!' and the nurse just bit her lip and shook her head. I definitely heard a baby crying, so I said 'then who's baby is that?' and she said 'its just the head...'
So! I believe they had to make the hole bigger because the baby was much larger than anticipated, and while they were carefully doing this my little one was screaming angry the whole time. I kinda wish I'd gotten to see it, but the expression on the nurse's and my husband's faces were priceless!

My daughter was quiet. Then after a few back rubs by the nurse she let out a squeak and a cry. It was the cutest thing ever

Babies that just don't cry or cry for a second and immediately stop are my favourite. Sure they get everyone worried but then they always give the "Whatever, guess this is my life now" vibe

Mine looked around like this was not what she had planned. She was perfectly fine but disapproved of the whole state of affairs.

I’m 56 and my mother still talks about how they heard me yelling before I was even born. She said it sounded like I was yelling through a tunnel. I was born yelling, with my eyes open and apparently displeased about the entire experience. The doctor said he wished he had a catchers mitt, because I shot out so fast. My poor mother.

My first child didn't come out screaming. She looked a bit shell-shocked! Her Apgar was 9 at birth, though, and 10 at 5 minutes. She was just a very chilled baby and didn't cry much as a baby.

Our first son was pretty calm, he breathed fine and his color was quickly good, but he did not cry. Once wrapped and put in his mother’s arms, he looked around as if taking in this new world, still not crying. Later on, he did cry when hungry or uncomfortable, or just because, like babies do. Our second son perhaps cried briefly (it was a rushed delivery in the middle of the night, I don’t remember it too clearly) but within a couple of minutes, fell asleep. Probably, he had been asleep before the whole delivery thing rudely woke him up. Both grew into basically healthy, normal, intelligent boys and men.

My 1st living baby, he didn't cry for 35 minutes. Was looking around, but boy when he cried we all wished he sounded different 😂
He sounded like an old style pot you boil water in on hob 🤭 The midwives all said it was a cry theyd never experienced before aha

I've had three children and none of them came out screaming I had a very sweet compassionate Doctor who did not turn them upside down and slap their butts he gently placed them on his arm massage them suctioned out their mouth and nose and they did not scream or cry and all three were born perfectly lovely and healthy and then he sang a cute little songs they've got ten little fingers and ten little toes and a cute little nose

A friends daughter made it to the warming table without much of a peep. When the nurse came over to teach first time dad how to bathe the baby, she let the world know she was not happy with the change as soon as the damp washcloth touched her head. That was nearly 30 years ago. Today she is an incredible stand up bass player. She was invited to join the Austin string orchestra at 14 because she was that good.

My sister was delivered by a midwife (1943). When she was delivered, she was blue and not crying. They wrapped her in newspaper (why newpaper, I have no idea) and placed her in a chair sure she was dead. In a minute or two, she started screaming. She was perfectly healthy.

Neither of my babies cried at birth. First came out eyes open, was a 9/10 on the Apgar, and didn't cry until later that night when he realized he wasn't going to get go back where he came from. Second was a waterbirth. Super peaceful experience. He let out one little bleat after a few minutes and that was it. I had a midwife tell me that for non-traumatic births, it was 50/50 on crying.

A know a boy born via emergency C-section whose first act once born was to breathe.
Achievement #2 was to crane his neck around and look at everything (amazed he was that strong!)
Achievement #3 was to pee in the doctor's face
Achievement #4 was to begin crying.

He grew up to be an extremely laid-back man with a good sense of humor. Just like the day he was born lol. Had a hell of a temper as a toddler though...
